Tinkle Friend

A phone and webchat line for children aged 13 and under, run by the Singapore Children’s Society. Weekday afternoons.

Tinkle Friend is a phone and webchat befriending service for children aged 13 and under, run by the Singapore Children’s Society. A child can call about anything: school, friendships, family, or something that is simply hard to say out loud to an adult they already know.

The line is 1800 274 4788, weekday afternoons. There is also webchat and an online forum at tinklefriend.sg, for a child who would rather type than talk.

It exists because a nine-year-old and a sixteen-year-old need genuinely different kinds of help, and most of Singapore’s youth services are built around the older end of that range. This is the one built for the younger one.
